Colleges in Idaho

There are many universities and colleges in the state of Idaho. This article will focus on public and non-profit colleges in Idaho and their surrounding area. Idaho sits in the Pacific Northwest, adjacent to Washington and Oregon. Its landscape includes rivers, lakes, mountains, grassy hillsides, and farmland. The northern part of the state normally receives more rain and southern Idaho generally has warmer summers.

Lewis-Clark State College

Lewis-Clark State College located in Lewiston sits in Idaho’s north-central region right on the Idaho Washington Border. In fact, the college is located between the Clearwater River and the Snake River. It’s a smaller college with an annual enrollment of about 3,500 students a year and they participate in intramural sports.

University of Idaho (UI)

The University of Idaho is in the northern part of Idaho located in the city of Moscow which sits on the border of Washington. The university sits on almost 1,600 acres and offers plenty of biking, pedestrian sidewalks, public transportation rails, parking, an 18-hold golf course, arboreta, and 860 acres of farms! Boise State University

Boise State University is located in southern Idaho and sits on 285 acres in the state capital, Boise. Boise is the most populated and active city in the whole state and is less than 50 miles from Oregon and 110 miles from Nevada. It has everything a city has to offer and is also known for it’s Boise River Greenbelt which stretches 20 miles along the Boise River.

BSU is the largest public university in Idaho and participates in the NCAA Division I and FBS Mountain West Conference. Their nickname is the Broncos. Idaho State University

Idaho State University’s main campus is in Pocatello in the southeastern part of the state and is also located in Meridian and Twin Falls. Though it has a variety of degree programs to choose from, it has the most health-related programs in Idaho. Idaho State University does offer student housing and there is even housing for parents with children. Community Colleges in Idaho

There are also community colleges in Idaho to choose from. In Northern Idaho, North Idaho College has multiple locations with its main location in Coeur d’Alene. Its other locations include Bonners Ferry, Sandpoint, Rathdrum, Hayden, Post Falls, and Kellogg.

In the central and southern part of the state, Idaho has these community colleges:
